Dr Edith Pola-Smith

Dr. Edith Pola-Smith is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with extensive international training and experience in Comprehensive Ophthalmology. A Fellow of the Zambia College of Medicine and Surgery, she provides compassionate, evidence-based care to patients of all ages and currently manages the Eye Clinic.

Dr. Edith Pola-Smith is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist with a strong foundation in Comprehensive Ophthalmology and extensive international training. She earned her medical degree from the University of Bucharest in Romania, followed by a medical internship at the University Teaching Hospital in Zambia. She pursued postgraduate training in Ophthalmology at the Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology in Glasgow, Scotland, and the University of Zimbabwe. Her training was further enhanced through advanced clinical programs at the LV Prasad Eye Institute in India and the University of New South Wales in Australia, institutions recognized globally for excellence in ophthalmic care. Dr. Pola-Smith is a Fellow of the Zambia College of Medicine and Surgery. She has many years of experience providing high-quality medical and surgical eye care to patients across all age groups. Known for her diligence, integrity, and professionalism, she is deeply committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. She currently manages the Eye Clinic, with a strong emphasis on safety, precision, and quality outcomes.
